Overview

The acquisition and playback system is designed to capture target RF signals in specific scenarios. After acquisition, the signals can be replayed repeatedly to reproduce the original signal environment during sampling.

Based on our hardware platform and open-source software-defined radio (SDR) development environment, the system can rapidly and reliably reconstruct the sampled signal scenarios.

By utilizing the synchronization capability of the hardware platform, multi-channel expansion can be conveniently implemented, further enhancing the system performance of the acquisition and playback solution.

Optional Configurations

For signal acquisition, NORTHBRIDGE provides optional RF frontends and acquisition channels covering 1 MHz to 40 GHz, together with high-performance baseband processing platforms, supporting synchronized multi-channel high-speed signal acquisition.

For signal storage, NORTHBRIDGE provides solutions with 8 TB per disk and a storage throughput of up to 40 Gbps, satisfying the requirements of real-time storage for multi-channel high-speed signal streams.

For playback and analysis, NORTHBRIDGE provides professional signal analysis software supporting 2D and 3D spectrum visualization, enabling fast signal sorting and identification based on signal characteristics.


Taking a customized system delivered to a customer as an example, a brief introduction is provided below.

System Principle

The RF recording and playback system consists of a host computer, USRP, full-duplex wideband transceiver and antenna. 

During signal acquisition, the system receives wireless electromagnetic signals via the antenna, full-duplex wideband transceiver and USRP, and the host stores the signal data to the hard disk.

During signal playback, the host reads the pre-recorded signal data and retransmits the data into the electromagnetic environment via the USRP, full-duplex wideband transceiver and antenna.


System Functions

The primary functions of the RF recording and playback system are to rapidly capture, visualize and record signals within the wireless electromagnetic environment.

The system provides data analysis tools supporting secondary processing and analysis in MATLAB.

After processing, the recorded data can be retransmitted into the electromagnetic environment, enabling users to reconstruct complex wireless electromagnetic environments efficiently.


System Applications

The RF recording and playback system enables users to rapidly construct wideband electromagnetic signal acquisition systems.

Modeling and analysis of various electromagnetic environment channels can be applied to rapidly develop jamming systems.
